Henrique Lage Salineira do Nordeste was founded in 1890 by the visionary entrepreneur Henrique Lage. Since then, the company has performed a trajectory of growth and success throughout the 20th century, contributing to the economic and social development of the main states in Brazil. With facilities carefully planned to produce the purest Brazilian salt, Salina Henrique Lage has grown throughout its history, making acquisitions of new areas and continuously increasing its production capacity. However, it was in the 70s that it made its most important acquisition so far, by incorporating the areas of Salina Matarazzo, reaching an annual production capacity of 950,000 tons, which corresponds to 20% of Brazilian production, and thus transforming itself , in the second largest national producer.

Today's Henrique Lage has a production capacity for 1,200,000 tons of bulk sea salt, using a total area of 4,850 ha, located in the municipality of Macau, 180 km away from the capital Natal. The company has 300 employees hired and distributed in the various processes of its operation. Holding the largest permanent preservation area for a salt pan in Latin America, Henrique Lage is committed to sustainable development and the preservation of the environment.
